General Surgery

At the Institute for Robotic Surgery, our general surgeons have training in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of diseases and disorders, as well as a diverse set of skills, specialties, and experience. Because of their broad knowledge, general surgeons are often called upon to assist in the comprehensive care of an injured patient or for the complete care of critically ill patients in the emergency room and intensive care units.

Award-Winning Surgical Care

The Institute for Robotic Surgery has received six Center of Excellence designations in total from the Surgical Review Corporation, including Robotic Surgery and Minimally-Invasive Surgery. These awards reflect our commitment and ability to deliver safe and high-quality surgical care.

The scope of robotic surgery is broad as well, and can be applied to so many specialties and procedures within general surgery. Our general surgeons treat conditions affecting various parts of the body, from the digestive tract to the endocrine system:

da Vinci Xi Surgical System

The da Vinci Xi Robotic Surgical System delivers high definition views, giving your surgeon a crystal-clear view of the surgical area, magnified 10 times what the human eye sees. Its finger-like instruments bend and rotate like a human hand, but with an even greater range of motion. Using this system, our surgeons are able to perform many general surgical procedures with minimally-invasive techniques, resulting in lower complication rates, shorter hospital stays, and quicker recoveries.
