Paul Rothenberg, M.D. is a Board Certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in operative and non-operative treatment of sports related injuries of the shoulder, elbow, knee and ankle. His expertise includes minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery, cartilage restoration/preservation and shoulder replacement surgery.

Dr. Rothenberg is originally from Tenafly New Jersey. He received his undergraduate degree from Union college where he was a 4-year member of their football team. He received his medical degree from the University of Miami where he graduated as a member of the prestigious AOA medical honor society awarded to the top students in each class. He completed his Orthopaedic surgical residency at the University of Miami, known as one of the busiest trauma centers in the country. He returned to his roots in the New York Metropolitan area where he completed his fellowship in Sports Medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital. During his training, Dr. Rothenberg has participated in the care of several professional and collegiate athletic teams, including the; New York Jets, New York Islanders, Miami Marlins, University of Miami football and soccer teams and Manhattanville college hockey.

Dr. Rothenberg has published multiple chapters and research papers on various topics in sports medicine and general orthopaedics. As a former collegiate athlete, Dr. Rothenberg understands the burden of injury on an active lifestyle. Dr. Rothenberg’s passion is restoring his patients’ lifestyles by returning them to their favorite activities.
